Who we are
Holloway is made by Artificial Innovations LLC, a software company based in Indianapolis, Indiana, USA. Artificial Innovations LLC is the developer and publisher of the Holloway app for Windows and of this website. When you connect a Microsoft or Google account, the Holloway app you're asked to approve is published by Artificial Innovations LLC.
In this policy, “we”, “us” and “our” mean Artificial Innovations LLC. “Holloway” means the app, this website and the waitlist.
Holloway is a Windows app in early access. It learns your work from its details, finds the tasks you repeat across apps, and turns them into agents that do the work in your real apps. Every change is checked, and Holloway writes a receipt.
What we collect, and when
What Holloway collects depends on which parts you use. Here's each one at a glance, then in more detail.
| When | What | Where it's kept |
|---|---|---|
| Website and waitlist | First name, email, who you're joining for, your job, an optional task you repeat, the page you joined from, and a referral code | With the services we use to run the website and waitlist |
| The setup scan | Details only: app names and usage times, file names, work websites, and how you move between apps | On your PC, encrypted |
| Everyday learning | Screenshots and screen recordings while you work. Skips password fields, banking, health, and private or incognito windows | On your PC, encrypted |
| Email and calendar, if you connect them | Email text, only after a separate yes. Skips health and personal-finance emails. Calendar attendees, times and titles | What it learns is kept on your PC, encrypted |
| Tasks and chat | What a task or question needs, including emails. Receipts show what it read and touched | On your PC, encrypted. Chat content also goes to our AI provider, only to answer you |
| Company accounts | Seats and results, like tasks done and time saved | Our company server, hosted on Microsoft Azure |
On our website and the waitlist
When you join the waitlist, we collect:
- your first name and email;
- who you're joining for: yourself, your team or your company;
- your job, as you type it;
- one task you repeat, if you choose to tell us;
- the page you joined from;
- a referral code, so we can tell when a coworker joins through your invite link.
Our website doesn't use third-party trackers. Our pages load fonts from Google Fonts, so your browser connects to Google to fetch them, and Google receives your IP address as part of that request.
In the app: the setup scan
When you set Holloway up, it scans the details of your work on your PC: which apps you use and when, file names, the work websites you visit, and how you move between apps. The setup scan uses these details only.
In the app: everyday learning
As you work, Holloway also takes screenshots and records your screen, to learn how you do things.
- It automatically skips password fields, banking, health, and private or incognito windows.
- A recording dot shows whenever it's recording.
- You can pause it at any time.
- Everything is stored encrypted on your PC. Your employer never sees your screenshots or recordings.
Connected accounts: Microsoft 365 and Google
You can connect a Microsoft 365 account (Outlook email and calendar, and Excel) or a Google account (Gmail and calendar). You sign in on Microsoft's or Google's own page, so Holloway never sees your password. Connecting an account never gives Holloway permission to change anything by itself.
- Email. Holloway reads the text of your email to learn the work that arrives by email, such as requests, orders, approvals and follow-ups. It does this only if you say yes to email learning, which is a separate yes from connecting your account. You can turn it off. It skips health and personal-finance emails.
- Calendar. Who's attending, when, and the meeting title.
- Excel. The workbooks a task or question needs.
Tasks and chat
When you hand Holloway a task or ask it something in chat, it reads and changes what that task or question needs, including the emails involved. Each task gets a receipt that shows exactly what it read and touched.
When you use chat, what you type, plus what's needed to answer, goes to our AI provider only to answer you.
Company accounts
When a company rolls Holloway out with seats, our company server keeps what's needed to run those seats and to show the company its results, like tasks done and time saved. The company view shows results only. It never shows your screen, recordings, emails, or your productivity or activity.
How we use it
We use information only to:
- run the waitlist and early access: let you in, contact you about your access, and move you and a coworker up the list when they join with your invite link;
- decide what Holloway learns next, from the tasks people tell us they repeat;
- learn your work on your PC, find the tasks you repeat, and turn them into agents;
- do the tasks you hand it and answer you in chat;
- check each change and write its receipt;
- show your company its results, if your company rolled Holloway out with seats;
- keep Holloway safe and secure, and meet our legal obligations.
We don't sell your information, and we don't use it for targeted advertising.
Where it's stored
- On your PC, encrypted. Everything Holloway learns: the setup scan, screenshots, recordings, and its memory of your work, including what it learns from your email and calendar.
- With our AI provider, only to answer you. What you type in chat, plus what's needed to answer.
- On our company server, hosted on Microsoft Azure. What's needed to run company seats and show company results.
- With the services we use to run our website and waitlist. Your waitlist details.
- In your Microsoft or Google account. Your email, calendar and files stay where they are. Holloway reads and changes them there when a task needs it.
Google and Microsoft account data
Google API Services: Limited Use
Holloway's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
In plain terms, for data from your Google account:
- We use it only to provide the Holloway features you use: learning from your email (if you said yes), reading your calendar, doing the tasks you hand it, and answering you in chat.
- It isn't used for advertising.
- It isn't sold.
- It isn't used to train general AI models.
- People don't read it, unless you ask us to (for example, when you ask for support), it's needed for security, or the law requires it.
- It's passed to others only as needed to provide those features (for example, to our AI provider to answer you in chat), for security, to comply with the law, or as part of a merger or acquisition with notice to you.
You can revoke Holloway's access to your Google account at any time in your Google Account settings.
Data from your Microsoft account is handled the same way: it's used only to provide the features you use, it isn't used for advertising, it isn't sold, and it isn't used to train general AI models. You can revoke Holloway's access at any time in your Microsoft account settings. For a work or school account, your organization's IT admin can also remove it.
Keeping and deleting it
- On your PC. What Holloway learns is kept, encrypted, so it keeps getting better. There are no per-item delete or forget controls.
- Delete all my data. This control in settings erases everything Holloway has stored on your PC. Uninstalling Holloway erases everything too.
- Email learning. Turning it off stops Holloway reading your email to learn. To remove what it already learned, use Delete all my data.
- Connected accounts. You can revoke Holloway's access to a Microsoft or Google account at any time (see section 06).
- Chat. What goes to our AI provider is used only to answer you.
- Company accounts. We keep seat and results information for as long as the company uses Holloway.
- Waitlist. We keep your waitlist details while the waitlist and early access run, or until you ask us to delete them. Email support@holloway.tech to be removed. You can unsubscribe from our emails at any time.
Your choices and rights
In the app
- Pause recording and learning at any time.
- Turn email learning off.
- Revoke a connected Microsoft or Google account.
- Use Delete all my data in settings, or uninstall, to erase everything on your PC.
Anyone can ask
Wherever you live, you can ask us what information we hold about you, and ask us to correct or delete it. Write to support@holloway.tech. Most of what Holloway learns is stored on your PC, so the controls in the app are the quickest way to manage it. We may need to confirm it's you before we act on a request, and we won't treat you differently for asking.
US state privacy rights
Some US states, including California, give residents rights over their personal information. Depending on where you live, these can include the right to know what we collect and how we use it, to get a copy, to correct it, to delete it, and to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information or its use for targeted advertising. We don't sell personal information or share it for targeted advertising. You can use an authorized agent to make a request for you.
If you're in the EU, UK or Switzerland
If data protection laws like the GDPR apply to you, you have the right to access your personal data, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to how we use it, get it in a portable format, and withdraw your consent at any time where we rely on it (for example, email learning). You can also complain to your local data protection authority.
Security
- What Holloway learns is stored encrypted on your PC.
- You sign in to Microsoft and Google on their own pages, so Holloway never sees your password.
- Connecting an account never gives Holloway permission to change anything by itself. Deletes, payments and sending to someone new always ask you first.
- A recording dot shows when it's recording, and you can pause it.
- Every task gets a receipt showing what it read and touched.
- Your company sees results only.
No system is perfectly secure, so we can't promise that information will never be accessed without permission. If we learn of a security incident that affects your information, we'll tell you as the law requires. To report a security issue, write to support@holloway.tech.
Children
Holloway is only for people 18 and older. We don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe someone under 18 has given us information, write to support@holloway.tech and we'll delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as Holloway changes. When we do, we'll post the new version on this page and change the “Last updated” date. If a change is significant, we'll tell you before it takes effect, by email or in the app. If a change affects how we use data from your Google or Microsoft account, we'll ask for your consent first where that's required.
